    Purple to Lilac question

    Right guts,
I wasn't able to grab some lilac coloured paint, so I figured that somehow I could start with purple and 'tone' it down,

So what in your opinion would be the best way to 'desaturate' the Tamiya X-16 to a more pale lilac colour ? would it be as simple as adding white as I originally thought, or is there some magic combination I need to be aware of ?

    Thx in advance

I would start by trying to add some white, or maybe light blue, and see what that does to the colour. You can always try with small amounts, at worst you’re wasting a few drops of paint.

Lilac tends to veer towards red tones so add a bit of red to the white. If you have pink that would even be better. It's basically a pale tone from violet. Purple tends to be bluish towards indigo.
