Bob,
As with Waspie, I used a brush first time with Maskol. Never again.
Now, it is just the ubiquitous cocktail stick. Just keep wiping it on a bit of kitchen roll to get any setting stuff off it.
This works perfectly well with Mr Hobby Mr Masking Sol Neo, Maskol and Microscale Micro Mask.
The Mr Hobby and Maskol are pretty interchangeable. My own preference, though, is Maskol as the jar neck is wide. The Mr Hobby has a conical shape making things progressively more awkward as you progress down the bottle.
The Micro Mask pretty well comes into its own when trying to mask accurately. For example, painting a nameplate all one colour then using MM to 'flood' the background then painting the raised bits. It's my favourite for this type of work. A minor word of warning with it, though - on some occasions I have known the edges to curl a bit when spraying Alclad primers. Just keep an eye on it.
Hope this helps.
