    difference between gloss and glaze

as you may or may not no i am converting the tamiya paints to vallejo paints, the first few i need to order i have figured it out easily, but now i need a semi gloss back, when i search scalemodelshop i see a gloss black and a black glaze, whats the difference or how would i get a semi gloss black?

Quick tip: Just buy the matt paints and then some Gloss medium. You mix in with the paint and you get.......Shiny paint. Well sort of. It works well in scale though. The more you add the more shine you will get.

Sort of like under 50% will be satin, more than 50% and it starts to get more of a sheen.

Or you could do it post paint and give the required gloss, satin or matt varnish. Which is maybe a better idea if you are going to give the model a gloss coat before decals and weathering...
