    Oil Paint Thinner.

    Hi Guys

    SHMBO just bought me some oil paint as per some modeling books said to try them.

    Now whats a comon name for low odor mineral spirit?? don't say low odor mineral spirit please.

    Would it be methalated spirits?

    I have'nt got a clue.

    Go to an art shop and buy some Winsor and Newton Sansodour thinner. Or Daler Rowney low odour thinners. (Thats what its called, honest!)

    There is another which is made from lemon and grapefruit oils which smells rather nice actually but I cant recall where you can get it from.

          Your not gonna love this, just popped into local art shop to get me thinners couldn't get me wheelchair:wheelchair: around the shop so lady went to get it, Whilst sat there lowlevel noticed a sales basket full of 100ml tubes of oil paint Mont marte aussie stuff, mostly burnt sienna, raw umber and reds for .99p

          so for a few quid i got enough oil paint to last a liftime.

              Thanks for starting this thread Martin. I got some oil paints as a Xmas prezzie from the GF, but I've not dared use it yet. I want to mucky up my SIG M901 and this has given me the push, and info, I need to try.
