    Smit Houston hull colour

    Hi All,

    Any recomendations as to which single acrylic spray colour would be a reasonable match to the one advised by the instructions, this is my second build and i would like to use a single spray for the hull to get a better finish than painting, however the mix is matt 37 + 85, but as i dont have an airbrush i was going to get the best possible match i can in one spray.

    The hull is a reddish brown.

    :cheers::cheers::cheers:

    Thanks in advance.

    I found a "red oxide" primer acrylic spray in a local motor factors, it has worked well on a couple of hulls, 1 of which was Smit Houston.

      Halfords do an acrylic red oxide primer in rattle cans. I've used it for a number of boat hulls and it works very well. I can't guarrantee though it is exactly the colour you are after for the Houston but as most ships are painted various colours below the water line during thier lives no one could really say it's wrong.

      This is what it looks like:

      Ignore the washers around the portholes, that wasn't my idea!!
