    I always use Italeri brush's.

Beautiful points and they lay the paint down evenly.

I've tried the Italeri and Humbrol synthetic bristle brushes, they're ok up to "0" for fine detail work needing a stiffer set, i found that anything over that was a little over-stiff and "draggy" for me.

This is obviously just my own opinion and everybodys requirements are different.

i think you'll be impressed with the ease of use too ..... they're ideal for giving a "chipped paint look" as an extra feature (if you decide to do any stress-weathering on future models)

well laurie  you know the middle part of the wheel...i used a silver pen that i ordered on line..when you shake the pen, it has a ball in it..like a sray can? i placed the pen right in the centre of the wheel, and pressed slightly.and the ink kind of bled out and stopped excactly where the tire is..it really worked well. i have a few pics from over the past few days, im going to start posting them up.

Another thing I use for doing things like switches, bolt head etc, I use the wood tooth-picks or even sewing pins...

Laurie, this is the kind of paintpen i have used in nearly all of the models and dios i have done.

There's other, cheaper varieties but this brand seems to last for ages and don't dry up like some cheaper ones. they're about £4

Thanks Colin. Yes I have a couple of cheap ones but they dry out within days of use as you indicate.

                    Thanks.

Berol are very good, its a british company thats owned by Papermate, they make fantasic handwriting pens and used to do some nice square edged calligraphy fibrepens too (not seen them lately though) .... dont forget to store the pen "nib up" with the cap on, i always pop some insulating tape around the cap and body to save it drying out too.
