    Advice needed

I've just started a chieftain tank build and I'm thinking about weathering for it now I know what colour I'm going to use for the tracks and underneath but I'm wondering what colour for the turret and upper hull,

If it turns out I'm thinking of putting a little diorama together.

    Any advice is much appreciated

If you want to be exact or be a bit of a rivet counter then I'm sure there'll be someone along with the correct colour.

For me... I just mix what looks about right from piccies on the web. If you're going to weather it you'll change the tone of the colour anyway to some extent.

I'm with Colin I go with what I think looks right I never bother to find out the exact colour look at the artwork on the box and look to see what paints you have to hand . Also I had an electrician at my house doing a job who used drive these and he said they were painted in the field of operation at times also the were covered in oil grease and mud good luck with yours Alan I'm looking forward to it

I agree with the chaps, I don't bother getting it spot-on, and as Colin points out, if your model does end up in a diorama, there will be dust, water, whatever around and all these will have an effect on the finished colour.

There is armour on display at RAF Cosford...You ought to see the variations in 'Greens' on them...and they are on show indoors!!
