    Desert camo

I've made a canvas cover for my fuel dump on my hurricane dio and wanted to know how it would have camouflaged

Base colour is sand and I'm going to use dark earth for the markings but I'm not sure if it would have been bold lines or a mottled effect

If anyone can help it's most appreciated

Alan, I have seen them just sand coloured, plain that's it and others with a muted mottled effect, not bold so it looked more diffused.

Cheers Si I've left it sand so I might just add some weathering to scuff it up a bit

Yeah, that sounds like a good idea, should blend in really well.

Yeah I hope so because of the colour of the hurry I've gone for a beige ground and I'll touch it up with some light brown in places to give it some definition

Well I tried a different approach this time , I mixed some heavy ballast with pva to give it a rough appearance and then I did the same with light ballast but it hasn't worked as well as I hoped , the light ballast didn't smooth out as I had hoped it clumped together in places so it's a bit more rougher than I had wanted but it's not that bad it sort of looks like the sand is thicker in some places than others

My excuse is it's a desert and you can't exactly smooth out the sand with a lawn roller
