Remove Sticky from Canopy after Masks Removed

I have just removed the Eduard masks from my Lancaster canopy. There is some sticky stuff remaining in some areas. Also, I used Mr.Masking Sol neo liquid mask for the observation dome. This has also left sticky bits (I won't be using that again!). I have scraped off as much as I can with a cocktail stick, and in the case of the liquid mask, rubbed with my finger. But traces of both remain.

Is there a safe solvent that I could use?

I have "Sticky Stuff Remover", (the retail liquid that removes sticky after peeling off sticky labels.) Has anyone used that for canopies?

I've used lighter fluid and a cotton bud with success to remove sellotape, masking tape and insulating tape residue on perspex and plastic.

I use IPA on one of the very small Tamiya cotton buds. It works well.

I have had success in the past with Methelyted Spirit for removing the sticky gum from labels. You would need to test the compatibility with clear canopies first though by testing on the sprue.

Oddly I have used all three of the methods above and had success with all of them

          Cheers

Like Barry I use IPA. Leaves not a trace of the problem or the IPA.

Would not use Stick Stuff Remover Steve as who knows what is in it. I suspect a base of Turps Substitute which leaves a very small amount of oiliness behind.

I use Vallejo air brush cleaner on a cotton bud and it works a treat.
