    Clear gloss ?

I've painted my buccaneer and used Matt paint but it's looking dull if I give it a coat of clear gloss will this soften it and should I mask off the canopy ?

    Thanks

What kind of gloss clear coat will you use, and are you brush or spray painting? If you're brushing Future/Pledge you won't need to mask the clear parts, but if you're airbrushing it may mist them slightly.

I'm brushing on and it's revell clear gloss ,

Is it best to coat it before you add the decals ?

I've never used it and have no idea what it's for lol

Alan, the gloss coat is to seal in your paint work and provide a smooth surface for your decals to adhere to. Decals sit better on a smooth surface rather than the rough surface provided by matt paints. After decal application you can then add a gloss or matt varnish coat, apply your weathering, and then varnish again to seal the lot with the final desired finish (usually a matt or satin).

Also, do not get it on your canopy, leave it masked until the whole thing is ready.
