    Afrika Korps uniform colours

I'm painting a figure for the Rommel dio and I only have the uniform colour in the instructions

Could anyone help with these two questions

1 did the cap of the Afrika Korps have piping on it like the standard German army issue and if it did what colour was it ?

2 what colour was the belt and was it a different colour for officers and enlisted men

    Thanks

That is a good question Alan. Regarding the cap have seen both types, one which is plain, no piping, and one with piping.

Belts are either brown leather or a light kaki green.

Thanks for that mate it's really helped me out

It's interesting to see that Rommel looks normal in that photo unlike the munchkin in the kit lol

Early Africa korps uniforms were almost a light olive for later uniforms try using tamiya dark yellow mixed with a little tamiya red brown. Check out my after ghazala diorama for a visual aid, hope this is useful.

Piping on the uniforms and caps for the DAK were white. Belts were usually black but i have seen them in brown.

Thanks Ian I have painted the main part of the uniform and looking at that I'm not too far away with the colour

                Thanks for putting that up
