    Thinning Mr Colour paints

Ive got some Gunze/Mr Colour clear gold paint that I need to thin.I didn't order any thinners as I thought I still had some Mr Colour Thinner.Wrong.Somebody told me you can thin it with water. But that doesn't work as the paint is lacquer based.Anyone know if cellulose thinner will do the job?.I know cellulose is the UK name for lacquer thinners.

Hi Dave, cellulose thinner will work with Mr Color lacquers. Also, I'm not sure if Tamiya's own lacquer thinners are available over in the UK, but I regularly use them to thin Mr Color.

As Mike says Dave, Tamiya lacquer thinner can be used with Mr Color paints. As you say the normal acrylic thinner or water cannot be used with these paints.
