    Humbrol weathering powders.

Anyone ever used these. Been watching the You Tube Humbrol chanel & they look quite good. What they dont tell you is if you should gloss your matt paint prior to using these or whether you just apply them direct to a matt finish.

    Any advise please.

I'd put a matt varnish on first Alan. Just to be safe. The mixture will always stick better to a rough surface but you have to be very careful.

      Alan,

I use MIG powders which are similar to the Humbrol version, I only apply them to Matt surfaces then use their pigment fixer at 10psi through an airbrush. However, you can use the fixer solution with a brush to build up crusty layers of dirt say, on the tracks of a tank or under frame of rolling stock.
On the bench: Airfix 1/48 Sea King HC4, Revell 1/24 Trabant.
