Hi guys does anyone know if railway bridges had ballast along the length of the track on the bridge?

I think it depends on the type of bridge. A brick (or stone built) one would very probably have ballast. A girder or beam bridge would probably have the sleepers bolted down direct to the construction.

A viaduct style bridge would have ballast along its length girder bridges would not.
