Well, I finished my stated chores, but forgot the maintenance sidings. Here's an example of a detailed Athearn loco here for clearance purposes. Sand, brake & fuel lines have been added plus additional decals, radio antenna, bell, electrical cabinet (other side), fuel filler, filter & sight gauge as well as all grabs, lift eyes, side window shades, snow plows, knuckle couplers, consist steps, safety chains, window wipers, MU hoses & a drilled out exhaust stack.

Looks to be a GP38, probably a dash 2, Nice locomotive Paul. The Road I used to model used a slew of SD38s as they phased out their SD9s. Looking forward to seeing this baby operational. Rick H.

Looks like a GP38 not dash 2 there’s no site glass and this one has chicken wire grills but I think the site glass was optional

You could be right Lee, it's been awhile since I did any "Railfanning".

According to Athearn it's a GP38-2. I use it for locals. The coolant sight glass is on the other side. I have another one, w/rerailers hung on it, I use for a yard switcher, two SD40-2s in a double consist for heavy road work, a CW 40-8 & a GP40-2 for fast freight. These are all Conrail. PaulE

Thanks Scottie. I'm pretty committed to this, but miss the military stuff. Maybe once the yard is troubleshot & in place I'll take a break & do a Sherman company. PaulE

IMO it is good for the Mojo to step back once in a while and involve yourself in something a little different. The best of both being a military RxR with military loads!lol. Rick H.

you will have to add some flatbed railcars with some armour on

Paul, throw in a few Hummers, Bradleys and some heavy trucks and you have it made. Rick H.
