Agreed ref great trees. They look fine, especially as you will be planting them in numbers....great production line idea as well.

Fantastic work...I have always really enjoyed train layouts..as a little kid I recall going to my grandparents house to see a train layout that my grandfather built ..I think it was the same scale train layout that you are doing here...he built a platform (pretty large in size..(maybe 8- 10 feet wide by 12-15 feet long) that was a replica of a small town where he grew up near Pittsburgh...always loved going up to his house to see it and watch the trains and to watch him scratch build buildings, bridges, train cars, etc.. I think he is the one that got me started in model building as a kid and I think I picked up some of his skills for scratch building structures.. Keep up the great work and I am definitely going to follow along.. glad I found this thread.

Rick, my go-to road building material, taping compound, the stuff you use to blend in the taped drywall joints. Only good up to 1/8" & it shrinks a bit, thus the second coat. PaulE

Paul, think this is absolutely great, love the way the foam block look like quarried faces. So much to see and take in, did notice a wooden yard stick proped up don't see many of those these days .

Dzohn, thank you, I couldn't do trains w/o it. Has holes drilled in it at strategic locations so I can layout big curves:smiling:. I also have a couple wooden triangular cross section scales leftover from my drafting days. PaulE

Second coat dry, paint applied & ash distributed. Will rub in when all is dry to age.
