I'm with you on that Paul. No fun "Crab Walking" under the bench work chasing loose connections. BTDT!

No need to panic. Industry yard section was hung up on wiring terminal block. SWMBO's b'day Sat. so no benchtime to keep the peace.
      Testing may begin Sun. PaulE

PaulE an im lookin forward to when you fire up the railway hope it all geos ok
QUESTION are all the rail lines live or are they only live when you throw the points to that rail only ? as on my layout for that zero 1 all rails were live's an return's as the loco had a computer chip fitted an would only go when I programmed in the loco's no. in to the computer an then it would send a digital signal through the track to tell that loco to move an all the other trains wont go until I again fed in to the zero1 unit another loco no. an that one would move too it was a good idea an system if only Hornby had made the system more powerfull

Thank you. I use the old DCV block system where all rails are live unless the block they are in is turned off, so only one train at a time unless your trains are tuned alike in speed or load is tuned to match train speeds. This is pretty dodgy, but I have done it for short periods on the previous large dbl. dogbone layout. PaulE

Sat. was dinner & a movie. Sunday we binged Homeland's 5th season, so no testing. Well, testing Monday did not go well. Intermodal sections passed fine, actually test ran a few locos. Large industrial section has a dead short somewhere & brought the controller down. I'll have to pull up that module & bench troubleshoot it. Rather than take an axe to the whole thing, I started constructing some tanker kits that were in the WIP box. Merry Christmas to all. PaulE

These took about 3hrs apiece to get to weather stage shown here w/metal couplers & wheelsets added & tuned. Found model kits of hotbox sensors & loose/dragging stuff sensors plus some nice relay boxes by Details West. Pics to follow.

Control section work progresses. Abandoned station/water tank now open market on weekends. Relay boxes, hot box sensors & alert light, dragging sensors & warning light, turnout motors & battery boxes installed. PaulE

Some track damage causing short due to aligning upper level w/o checking lower. Duh! Will continue checking.

From here it looks like a Pullman Standard Hopper car, 100 ton cap. maybe?
Peers you are having fun...hope you get the electrical sorted soon. Rick H.

As always this brings back memories of my modest layout. Good luck with the continued reconstruction..

                                All the best. Andrew
