Thanks John, have started laying track, points and two cross overs , double slip and single slip, the double slip is access to platform two and the middle track, the single slip
is access to the middle track from the station module to shunt around the Indian Pacific at East Perth terminal the end of IP's journey from Sydney, extra fun .
On the loop and station modules triple track
When the IP arrives at Sydney depending on if the train has 28 passenger cars , has to split up onto the island platform 2 and 3, when I complete the layout the curved approach module, if only has 18 cars will arrive platform one, I am not sure if I will motorise the cross overs , be on my toes then.
If I have some friends over for a running day, I will need a chief controller, hopefully my wife .
Before I can nail the curved track down, I have to cut a 6 inch ply piece so I join up the two modules, that be Fridays job and the same the other end, that way the track will line up every time .
Tony from down under, starting to warm up 29 degrees now, quite warm working at the side of the house, might set up my gazebo upComment

I use the 4 when I am joining two modules together same height to cut the track on the module join, rest day going out for dinner tonight with a group of friends and meeting afterwards long night .

Latest update on the layout , finished laying the track and points on the first station module
The triple track id part of the terminus station platforms , the other track is the main line for the island suburban platforms , there be a 7th single track on the left module edge and extension to be added to make of the double track and other island platform.
I plan to change the station building to what other station I will have on the layout , track to be covered.
No more work on the layout till next week be working on the ship .

The pics show on how I solder the tracks down on the module ends, line up, the first pic using the fibre glass brass plated strips works well
Second both modules track bridging the module join .
Third pic the test coach running over the cut module join track .
Last two pics with the two modules pulled apart and joined back up again, the big test will be when I run the test lock over the module track join , all my straight and curved sections be the same way, of course the brass has to have a grove to stop the shorting out .
Will be working on the S/w approach module today, first I have to fold in the legs on the second station module .

The curved decking is in , next time will fold out the legs to set up the first station module, the join the two approach modules level them cut the legs and move onto the curved decking, which will clear the bottom down pipe making it easier, to bridge the gap on joining the curved decking.
Once I have done that I can continue on with the track laying, bus wiring, most of the points be powered, especially the ones at the back of the layout and further away, will have working signals, I make my own, want to learn how to build three way signals .
Pic one the green tarp I will covering the from the fence to the window cover, will be buying two more, on Tuesday was pretty hot in the morning, modules were hot even in the afternoon when the shade was over, January Feb be very hot. Haven't got a double track deck cut for 6 foot radius curve .
Pics two and three I am thinking of moving the curved decking out 6 inches or move the layout six inches down to clear the down pipe.
I won't be doing any work on the layout till after the 31st of October, from the 19th

Bought two more tarps, Sunday I will screw in the hooks for the eye lets of the tarp and rope for the other side., the 7foot curve with the trains running on it will look awesome, I used to have only six foot curved sections on my first layout and the trains looked ok running on them.
Will check out your Tiger progress, TonyComment

I have decides to change the points around on the first station module so then the suburban trains will face the right way and run continuously from station to station with point switching set and run a freight train.
IN first pics changes is the two express points towards the front of the pic and where the small plastic box is where the third track will go, Wednesday Thursday the days are cooler will work on the track changes .
pics two and three be changes in the points and track, the second pic I be adding a small cross over to access the outer track from the inner track for the suburban train.
The last pic the curved module the outer track be moved closer to the the edge to the module, will join the two modules together so I can solder the brass trips on the rails.
I have changes the stuff in the shed around making more room to work.

Have finely finished nailing he track and points down , next big is the bus wiring , the curved point out on it's own is only there temporary till I ad in the track leading to platforms 1and 2
The layout wont be at the side of the house any more, it gets too dam hot in the morning so the layout is back at the shed and the grass is pretty level there, the legs will have feet on them to stop them sinking into the grass o much, there be a big return loop like at the side of the house. Be room now for a small railroad town .
Not much work on the layout this week , hopping Tuesday depend on the weather rain is predicted.
