    DD40AX Union Pacific weathering commission

A friend from the model railway club I attend asked me to weather this locomotive for him. It's a DD40AX in Union Pacific livery by Bachmann and he isn't that keen on doing his own weathering which is why he asked me. I've done the odd loco and stock for other members and charge a small fee to cover the cost of paints and time which I put away to pay for DCC sounds chips when I have enough. I returned this to its owner ther other night and was chuffed to get some good feedback and came home with another loco to weather!

US railways aren't my thing but I've wanted to do wagon stock for a while as they get really grubby, but this loco came along so I took it on. All of the weathering was researched from photo's found on the internet and applied with Mig pigments, washes and Abteilung oils. It was treated to a wash for yellow vehicles, rust and dirt staining on the roof and body sides with pigments and the fuel tanks with oils. The bogies didn't get as dirty as I thought they might som just a light dusting with pigments toned this down.

Everything was sealed with pigment fixer applied by airbrush at 10-12psi.
