Thanks for the suggestion Tim.
Unfortunately as you can see from my first post, it is too late as the relevant bits are well and truly stuck together. Probably just as well as my limited building skills would probably make a complete balls up of the alteration!
None the less, I have Evening Star in my stash, so when I build that I will have a go at widening the gauge and hope for the best.

Cheers.
Ron

Cool, itโ€™s a BR2.....not bad for a Rosebud Kitmaster thatโ€™s probably older than me.....shape looks close to spot on...

Nice picture Peter. Thanks for posting it. Not quite the same as the one I'm doing but a nice looking loco.

As this will be a workhorse pulling stuff, the paintwork will hopefully reflect the conditions. Good excuse for what follows.............:worried:!

Here are the stage paintings of the loco and tender thus far. One more coat should see them done.
Tap water thinned Vallejo Model Air roughly painted on with a wide flat headed brush and allowed to run and gather where it wants.

The tender using the same painting method as the loco.

Some pre. shading, colour modulation (Whatever the heck that is but it sounds posh and dead clever!) and weathering, done as you roll along with just three coats of brushed on paint.
All hail the bristles......:blow-kiss-2: Oops! :flushed:

Final coat to follow.

Cheers.

Hi Ron
Can't argue with the effect you have achieved - looks very effective.

Copper pipes still to do and make me some cab windows too.

Just arrived Ron. The train was late!:smiling5:

Nice to see you trying something different. What is your favourite genre of transport to model?

Thanks Steve. Serves you right for trying to use 453 Race's Senior Rail Card!

I don't have a favourite as such, I usually just come across some mode of transport which I fancy having a go at and away I go......:thumb2:

Small update.
Cab with first bit of brass detail.

More or less completed brass, copper pipe, the dials and a bit of shiny wear and tear. All ready for the windows then I can add the cab roof.

Cheers.

Hi Ron
Either you have very big hands or it is much smaller than I thought. Is the "stuff wot makes the wheels go round" a single piece or lots of bits.
Soon you'll be able to push it along and make chuff-chuff noises. Oh what fun.

Hi Jim.
The loco minus tender is about 5" long.

I've taken a shot of the bits for the valve gear etc. A fair number of pieces.
At first I wanted to have the gear moving, but it's very fragile and as it will be static I chose to glue every bit together.

Thanks for the post. I appreciate it.

Fireman, stoker and cooker of the bacon on the coal shovel, Ron.
