i cant find the 3d model bit

                        edit:

                        found it

according to this little 3D thing the catapult slipways are painted red. i wonder if this was true to the original, i think that could and most probably would look out of place on a model.

Actually - Do you Have the Bible on Yamato Class -

                          namely

                          THE BATTLESHIP YAMATO

                          BY JANUSZ SKULSKI

( CONWAY MARITIME PRESS ) I HAVE THIS COPY -

SEE REAR JACKET , IT is proven on this

                          - the Runways were painted Maroon ( not Red )

( * He interviewed and spoke to Japanese Experts on the IJN , who confirmed many of his new findings - remember all the Secret Plans were destroyed at end of war by Japanese Secret Police themselves )

                          ----------------------

Note - only a handful of original documentation and photos has been found or discovered over the years ,

So although it might look Odd - it is totally historically accurate 100 % -

the choice is yours - see this book to see for yourself

                          NONE FINER ----------:knight:

                            SaturnV

Hi everyone. First time user of this great site. My dream is to build a very large scale SaturnV, hence the title. But I saw the program on the History Channel a couple of nights ago about the Yamato and saw a link on Yahoo that took me to you site to watch a film on this great ship. So I'm logging in to take a look. Looks like a tremendous amount of expertise at this site. Hope to find more on the SaturnV as well.

Thanks for the kind coments Saturn. We have a pretty diverse range of modelling area's represented here so hopefully there will be something of interest for you.

Remember if in doubt ask and we range from complete beginners to members who have been modelling for a number of years so there is no such thing as a daft question!

I remember making the Saturn V Airfix kit as a teenager and how impressed I was with the size of it and the way it all came apart in the same way as the real one did. That adorned my bedroom for quite a while from what I remember. The biggest challenge with that was masking the white to paint the black panels across a corrugated section that was almost impossible to prevent bleeding along the low points in the sharp corrugations. This was at a time when the whole school was congregated in the main hall to watch a black and white TV on stilts at the front so that we could all be there to see the first man step onto the moon. Fond memories!

At the end of the day enjoy your time with us.
