LED lighting for your super dooper models

    Hi Boys & Girls,

Just been partrolling the web and came across this website. Maybe useful for those of you who want to go that extra mile and add some LEDS! Honestly I don't own this company! Looks useful!

    Happy Modelling!:thumbsup:/http://www.microminiatures.co.uk/acatalog/Switches.html

Seems to be quite "model" specific, some nice little units in there.

Hopefully not bursting any bubbles here .. but Maplin have a similar selection of bulbs/fittings/power supplies and are a little more cost effective.

Prices on this site are comparable if not slightly better than Maplins. This site is selling pack sof 5, 10, 15s whereas Maplins tends to price them individually. For example the yellow 5mm flasing LEDs are 2.81 for 5 = 0.562 while Maplins prices them at 0.68 each for 5+. You also have to buy the resistors separately at Maplins whereas this site is bundling them with the LEDs. I've bought a lot of LEDs from Maplins over the last couple of years and they aren't that great frankly.

Maplins certainly are not cheap, especially for LEDs.

Try Rapid Electronics for better prices.

From a personal view i never had any issues with Maplin quality, and used their components for a number a things, lighting rigs for the band, replacement component parts for computer boards etc, radio control repair, sound engineering ideas, again for the band.

Used them for many years and had a business account (maybe that had an effect on price?)

The cost effective comment was more to do with negating any costs for postage etc, so i may not have come across right ...ooops.

Didn't want to come across as argumentative or critical..... sorry

No need to apologise as far as I am concerned!

You have a favourite supplier that suits your needs. Fine.

I have a different opinion. Equally fine.

The more different opinions there are, the merrier!
