    Model Makers Calculators - Freeware

    Hi folks,

I have written a couple of useful number crunchers for our Club members and think they might be useful to others ... so please feel free to have a look and download if you wish.

The URL is http://edinburghmodelboatclub.org and the apps can be found on the Help Pages.

One is for calculating scale dimensions including drawing reproduction scaling.

The other is for calculating the length of drive belts (round, flat and toothed).

As I say these are freeware. When downloaded, unzip them to their EXE format.

They install nothing other than themselves on your PC, so getting rid of them is easy peasy ... just delete the exe file.

If anyone uses them and has comments, suggestions etc. I'd be very pleased to hear them.

The Scale Calculator is still in the EMBC help pages along with some newer additions such as how to build your own switcher and servo reverser. However I am having trouble running it! By sheer luck the author is giving me a lift to the Club Workshop night this evening and I'll see if I can get the problem sorted out.

It should also be available here: http://www.sfmbc.net/page73aa.html

but I can't get this to run either. Leave it with me.

          Hi folks,

It appears that the problem happens only with Internet Explorer users  and the solution is as follows:

Right click with the mouse cursor on the link and, from the list, select "Save Target as ..."

This should let you save it where you wish.

If you are using FireFox, simply click on the link.

I have amended the instruction set on the Downloads page of SFMBC.net and will do the EMBC one shortly.

Sorry about this but I have just heard of it from Andrew.

I hope you find the freeebies useful.

          Iain
