Howdy Guys and Gals,

I subscribe to a "newsletter" online called "Wrecks and Relics" that is informative and has great photos of warbirds, mostly old, but occassionally some new ones.

Here is their own description of the site:

"Welcome to "Wrecks Wrelics" - an photo posting E-Group dedicated to the PHOTOGRAPHY of civil and military airframes that are in store, preserved on a pole or as a gate guard, inside or outside a museum, converted to other uses, on the firedump, or relegated to the scrapheap. Photos from MASDC/AMARC especially welcome, no problem with spraylat here! Airliners in storage also very welcome as are preserved flyable aircraft."

Anyway, as a member you recieve a newsletter of postings made on the site. As I said, they have great photos that might be useful in modeling such as details of aircraft interior and exteriors.

Greg,I am also a member of that one,if you want to see wrecks of aircraft worldwide then this is your group,the pictures really make you think what has either been scrapped off or stored in the desert,I will endorse that,a must for any old aircraft nut.

I must confess to owning a metal detector and going over old crash sites in essex, Kent and suffolk so far I have found loads of bits and pieces (german as well as allies) I also visit old airfields and have a large collection of 50. calibre shell cases that were swept put of aircraft at the end of missions (though my most favourite piece is a 88mm shell casing i picked up in Jersey)

Howdy Guys,

Well Barry, its good to have someone else who can "vouch" for the usefulness of the site I mentioned.

Another friend of mine showed me the site while we were talking back and forth in the forum at the cardmodel website.

The cardmodelers use the site for information, drawings and pics. Especially when they go to design the cockpit of some cardmodels.

Anyway, I knew someone had to have heard of the wrecks and relics site other than myself.

Have a good day.....Oh and by the way, I picked up that model of the Dragon rapide at the hobby shop today along with a ford tri motor, a fiesler storch and a KIFV (korean infantry fighting vehice). I will keep ya'll posted as I build them.

Guys, has anybody heard or can shed any light on an Me109 that went down in hawkinge late 1940? From local sources im told its still there about 2/3 feet down, however the woods are LARGE.....

Toby,can I suggest the 'Flypast' forum set up by Key Publishing,place a post on there and I bet that someone will answer your question,there is something familiar sounding about this cash and I bet that the wreck groups know something more about it ?

yea this is all very interesting, i might have to join that group Greg thanks for sharing. Nigel can you get some pics up and some info on your metal detecting findings some time when you have a bit of spare time. would love to hear more about it!
