this website has lots of information available on whats-happening at your local station, as well as fund raising and training and also the different classes of lifeboat that are available are a few of the items to be found here.
I for one took for granted the RNLI crews and what these people are prepared to do to help `joe public` as well as any other vessel / person in trouble in our coastal waters.
Having seen video`s of these crews in action, then realising these people do it voluntarily,i probably still do not understand the full extent of being a rnli volunteer. my hat is removed and the upmost of respect to these people for what they do.
Having browsed this website and checked the news of local stations well..... :respect2:
You take for granted this service, but i`m sure if your stuck in anyway on the water, then these people would be as welcomely seen as your own mother !!

The tyne class lifeboat that has been shown ( HERE) in another thread, was for a considerable period used for `fund raisng` for this association. This was the purpose of this model and a few others . A better reason to build these i cannot think off .
