    Helicopter hold lighting

On the Merlin 1/48 Helicopter it has al large side cargo door and a huge ramp on the rear of the hold. So it is worth providing a decent job on the interior.

To enhance viewing the inside I looked around for some sort of lighting to put in the ceiling of the hold. So to those who may be interested this is it.

Got this from EBay ยฃ4 something with out the battery. The strips come in 5cm with increments up to 30cm. The black box houses the battery and has switches on each side.

The leds come in 6 colours including warm & cold white. Using Amber as I want to give an impression of dawn or evening light.

This seems to be the stuff: doll's house LED strip lighting. A current ebay listing can be found here for example.

I imagine the red lighting would be good for e.g. night insertion ops, interior of modern AFVs etc. The ad boasts the lights are really bright - too much so? Look forward to seeing how this pans out!

That is the one Alasdair but mine came under Model Train set lighting. Exactly the same. Not sure what bright is like but a bit of shielding will sort that out if necessary

See what it is like a do a sitrep.

Should work a treat Laurie, I use this stuff on my RC boats, no hassle and effective.

            Now received the lighting set.

This gives an idea. Room lights out the first picture light staring at the camera. The second 50mm from the floor pointing down. This is the 50mm (5cm 2") length the smallest. The colour amber which is perfect for putting in the helicopter hold.
