I try whenever possible. Not quite my best work but I reasoned so little would be on view and through the canopy it would look ok.
Thanks Pete. As Rick said, you should look it up. Very simple steps abd works on any scale up to and including 1/35.
Thanks Andy! Good to have you on board!

Ok all, so lots of progress in the past few days and especially yesterday and today..
Cockpit finished, pilots finished, pilots seated and fuselage halves joined.....
- Cockpit looks ok; decal instrument panels not great but better than nothing and you can barely see them. Did a pin wash of black/brown to make it pop a bit.
- Managed to get pilots seated after a lot of surgery...to the point I nearly didn't put the second one in but I learnt my lesson the first one and so the second one went in better and with less surgery.
- Two halves went together ok.....first one tool a lot of work....not sure if it was the pilot, the order I glued the fuselage together or the alignment styrene I added. Second one was much better; I started at the tail plane and worked my way forwards.
I think Colin summed these kits up perfectly previously, when he said they don't "gel". A lot of the time it's great but every so often it lets you down a you'll see from the cockpits.
Usual pics and commentary below.
ACW as usual.

Finished cockpit prior to pilot and putting together
Pleased with how they look.
Hacking the pilot..... :crying:
I knew it might need a bit of tweaking but this was ridiculous.....the second was only marginally better.....:crying::crying::crying:
In summary, they're a bit too tall, their legs are too close together and their bums really don't fit the seat - suspect it's a combination of the figures and the kit not being designed for each other.
The two halves together.....
In both case I had to change the angle of the left arm further downwards to fit the cockpit.
The good news is that in both cases the canopies appear to fit perfectly based on a dry fit. The wings are also a pretty good fit.
But look at the holes in the rear of the cockpit......:crying:

I've nearly finished the build on plane no. 1 and that's had some fit issues that I think are linked to the cockpit and alignment styrene I added.
The good news is that I'm expecting better from my next build for the Mossie GB, one of Tamiya's 1/72 offerings....Comment

Andrew looks great the pilots is nice you did a good job on him. The office details are very nice you could put a little super glue on the joints where the gaps are and sand them that might help but to me that canopy might hide them anyway.Comment
