    Buccaneer Brevity

I was tackling the build of the Airfix 1:72 Buccaneer S2C and, at the end, removed the masking from the canopy....

My sense of humour has recovered now.
And, yes, I did get it out!
Hopefully it will raise your endorphine levels.

If the pilot flies backwards he'll be fine.

Pilot looks like his bang seat was a bit loose as well.
Glad you got the masking out but did the canopy survive?

              Tim,
I had read about masking the insides of canopies in order to paint the cockpit colour, masked up inside and out. Thought about the hard work involved, rested from the effort, slept and carried on with the build. Found out at the end about my great idea :tears-of-joy:
Kept the photo as a record of how not to build models.

                Ian,
No, the seat wasn't loose, but I agree it is too far forward. Don't know how I managed it but, hey, you see some people driving a car that way - why not something with wings? :smiling:

The canopy did survive. I had glued it in place using Micro Kristal Klear so that the canopy did not fog. I fitted a brand new scalpel blade to the handle and, bit-by-bit, cut away the glue to then get the tape off; re-affixed the canopy.

Showed my wife and kids and got the same :surprised: initial reaction, soon followed by :tears-of-joy:!

When I remove canopy masks, I normally find dust. On the inside. I hate dust.

I fully forgot to put a cockpit in a spitfire once. Yes it was a surprise. A double one actually.
First finding a random cockpit at the paint table. then taking off the masking from the canopies.
