Hi Folks,
I used to be a member of these forums several years ago, For various reasons I stopped modelling and sold off all my stash.
I recently found out I had Kidney cancer which has also spread to my ribs, and i'm currently waiting on various results to find out my treatment options. I'm fortunate to have retired early but my wife still works so I spend a fair amount of time alone and after my diagnosis I initially tended to dwell a lot on it and my potential future, so after deciding I needed a distraction to keep me busier I seemingly naturally fell back on scale modelling. I didn't realise how much i'd missed it until I started again!
So far my efforts haven't been altogether catostrophic. An 1:72 Airfix ME-109 which looks ok from a distance, if you don't notice the odd missing decal.. I'm obviously keen to improve asap.
I did keep all my airbrushes, most of my tools an extractor so i'm not starting entirely from scratch.
I'm now working on an Airfix 1:72 Lancaster which will ulimately hang from my garage roof, being chased by the 109 :smiling: and i'll mostly be lurking on the forums looking for tips and tricks.
I had to re-register to the forums and I have used my old username, but it must have remembered me on some level as it's pulled in my old forum photo :smiling:
Cheers,
Gary.
