    Lockdown output!

    Hi all
Has anybody else produced much more than their normal completed models this year. I know we have probably had more time on our hands but in my case, much of that has been taken up by home schooling the children. Equally I wasn’t one who is was out every night of the week so not much has changed there...but despite that I have completed so many more models these last few months than ever before.
Since I got back into Modelling (which I think is about 6 years ago)I have produced a total of 13 busts...of which 6 have been completed since March 2020. Last year I finished 1 bust, 1 figure and a 3 figure dio / vignette. Here’s my production line since March..

So maybe a new consequence of the “ new normal” is a lack of shelf space and a severely depleted stash? ......every cloud??

Looks like the set up for a joke... 2 Americans, 2 Germans , a Cuban and a criminally insane inmate walk into a bar.....

Same here, also a key worker (poultry farmer), trying to keep the country fed, plus the loss of my mojo for a few weeks. It's slowly returning.

Thinking about It I suppose I have had more time on my hands...not being a key worker as such ( Thanks to those that are by the way!!!)
I've certainly not watched as much sport on TV so there that I suppose??? That used to take up a lot of evenings???
I think maybe as I'm getting a little older and things change and my time frees up a bit more (number one son is off to University..so I won't be a free taxi service quite as much ) I can see myself doing a little bit more modelling than I used to???
I know there was thread recently about people struggling to model as they get older so is there a golden age of modelling... a time when the balance of enough free time and physical ability align perfectly??? 50's -60's - 70's????

Got a little more done, largely because we couldn't go out much. But both our jobs kept going throughout just from home not our respective offices.

That’s an impressive Lockdown haul Jason and they’re all of top notch quality.
In answer to your question, I only had around 2 weeks furlough so my output has not been so prolific. That said I have made great in roads into the RC Panther so i’m happy.
                    Keep up the great work

I think my output is down slightly as I am still working but recently moved house and can't get to my modelling stuff.

Well, output is pretty much the same, but INPUT is higher due to no visits to the pub, or coffeeshop, leaving me with a few more pennies in my budget than normal. The thing that has really hit my output is the hot weather - poor sleep & uncomfortable sticky days have removed any desire to sit at the bench! ( the forecast is for cooler, fresher weather, but I've heard that one too many times...........)

My output has been much higher than normal. If I was working normally I'd be spending significant time away from home and the bench, but the last job I did was back in February!

I've completed at least eight models in the last six months, averaging well above one per month.

                              From memory there have been a 1/32 He 100, a 1/32 He 219, two versions of the Fi 103 (V-1 and 'Reichenberg'), a 1/32 F6F, a 1/48 Canadair something or the other (which I was given in a bag), a 1/32 Mustang IV and a 1/32 Spitfire I.

The only reason that I haven't started a new project is that we are looking after a tortoise whose ample pen is situated exactly where I would normally sit. However, she is being picked up tomorrow, so.....
